Made from laser cut and powder coated aluminium and available in various colours, the ‘FILE’ shelf takes its visual clue from the traditional hanging file system all too present in most offices. Similar to the classic hanging folders, the ‘FILE’ shelf features ‘tabs’ on some of its upright components, thus allowing for the indexing and organisation of a larger library.

By embracing the idea of continuous repetition the ‘FILE’ shelf is able to expand to an infinite bookshelf made from clones of only two different components, namely the folded uprights and slot-in shelves. These components are preassembled on aluminium rails in batches of 5 or less and simply hooked into equivalent rails mounted on the wall. This flexible system ensures minimal fixing points and perfectly aligned shelves even when assembled over a great length of wall. The angled orientation even permits the ‘FILE’ shelf to continue around corners.
